There is nothing to install and no API key to paste. Requires a Copyleaks account that can run a scan in the app on a paid balance - subscription, prepaid, or an organization-paid account. Free and lapsed accounts cannot connect, and a Copyleaks API key on its own is not a way in.

What you need, and what works where

You need an AI client with a place to add an MCP connector. Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code), Codex, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, Cursor and VS Code all have one. A product without that setting can’t connect, on any plan. All twelve tools work in every one of them, chat included. The one difference is the upload step: a larger file or an image is sent to an upload address, which needs a client that can run a command on your machine. Where a cell says no, upload the file or image in the Copyleaks app, then ask your agent to read the finished scan.

Which Claude am I using?

Claude Desktop has three tabs - Chat, Cowork and Code - and the tab decides the column above. Two tells. The Code tab shows a terminal and file diffs; the Cowork tab shows a task plan and a folder you chose; Chat shows a conversation and nothing else.

The endpoint

The endpoint names its own authorization server, so there is nothing to configure by hand.
